• Improvement of the surface integrity of coated and machined components by studying and optimising the relevant parameters in the manufacturing processes determining the residual stress profiles.
• Establish the influence of work-hardening and microstructure transformations in stress and texture distributions in engineering materials, both by direct X-ray diffraction measurements and modelling.
• Development of new tecnhiques and numerical models for residual stress analysis
